Framing costs a lot. I think Sharae has found a lucrative business. I was thinking about it, for how much it cost me to get frames, they probably don't need to spend a lot on the frame itself. Labor is probably the issue. Although I could be wrong.

Splendid Isolation
This is my capolavoro, so far... It's one of my better pieces. I think it turned out good cause I sacrificed a free collective soul concert to paint it. In other words, doing it pretty much mi ha fatto sputare sangue. Faticoso!

Framins is expensive, but ultimately worth it, in my opinion. I've just been using glass clipped to foamcore for a while and, although it makes for a clean presentation, I'm sure there are better ways to do it. One clever way I've seen around it, is to use antique frames. They can be found inexpensively, sometimes at thrift stores, and make for a really interteresting display.

Frames are expensive. I've gotten some decent ones at Target when I was in a pinch (but don't tell anyone) David's suggestions are much cooler. Antique frames are awesome. Sometimes in the Met, I would get so distracted just looking at the frames, I would forget to look at the painting.
Are you going to do illustration friday?
yeah, illustration friday is really good practice for doing stuff on your own, or posting old stuff you have that happens to fit (or not) the word of the week. Then all these random people start telling you how great your artwork is.
